Does jelqing really, REALLY, work?
Here's the lowdown on the jelqing exercise (check out the Bigger Johnson page to answer the question what is jelqing? if you are not familiar with the famous exercise for enlarging the penis).
Basically there are three things needed in order to make jelqing work. Thankfully they are NOT any kinds of pumps or extenders or any other equipment you need to buy. The only thing you may consider buying is access to a complete jelqing program to ensure you get the gains you are after and you do the exercises safely. Here's the 3 things needed to make the jelq exercise work:
1. GOOD INSTRUCTION. This was just mentioned a moment ago, that it is worth seeking out and even possibly paying for good guidance and instruction on how to jelq. I've seen more than a few forums where guys just dive into jelqing knowing just the bare basics and 2 months later they say "nope didn't work". Once you see what they were doing, or not doing, you realize why it didn't work. If they would've actually done the exercises RIGHT and warmed up/cooled down properly, and perhaps added some stretches in between their jelqs, had the right number of sets and reps down, then after 2 months they probably could have noticed some nice size gain. But instead they flew it solo and wasted a few months with zero results to show for it.
2. CONSISTENCY. This is the one that gets most everyone. Usually the jelq exercise requires 4-5 days a week of around 15-25 minutes or exercising (though there is the 6 minute a day routine that's pretty good). This can't be done one week, then not done the next, then do it a few times the third week... No, it has to be done week after week for gains to occur. I don't think missing a few workouts is a big deal, but being totally out of whack and inconsistent won't bring on the size gains. Consistency seems to be one of the major keys for guys who successfully gain size from jelqing.
3. WAITING FOR THE RESULTS. This is huge as well. What usually happens is that after a week or two guys will get frustrated as their schlong didn't grow up to 9 inches. You have to wait for the results, and they are NOT going to come after only a week or so. Now some guys have reported noticeable size gains after a few weeks, but these aren't anything "major". For the major gains, it seems to take several weeks and more than just a few months to get to the 'much bigger' stage.
The above are the three most common reasons why jelqing does NOT work for many guys. They don't know what they are doing, they are not consistent, or they don't wait for the results to happen.
How much size can one expect with jelqing?
This differs based on individuals, but the common sentiment among results is to first shoot for an added inch gain as a goal. See what it takes to get there, and then go from there. An inch gain can actually be a HUGE gain as it is definitely noticeable. It can shoot you up from average to ABOVE average. Or get you from small size to having a nice average sized stick.
